PRADEEP K. GUPTA, M.D.
Dr. Pradeep Gupta received a degree in Biology from American University. He then attended Howard University School of Medicine where he received several awards for academic achievement. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center. While at Georgetown, he won the American College of Gastroenterology’s Lawlor Award - the College’s highest national award for clinical research. He was selected as a third-tier fellow for the highly competitive Fellowship in Therapeutic Endoscopy at Georgetown University Medical Center. The author of many articles, abstracts and textbook chapters, Dr. Gupta has presented at numerous national meetings. He is the past Chief of Gastroenterology (GI) at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) and the current, long-serving, Medical Director of the GI Unit at VHC. He is also the Medical Director of Woodburn Endoscopy Center in Annandale, Virginia.
Dr. Gupta has been active in various hospital committees at Virginia Hospital Center and Arlington County Medical Society. Widely recognized for his expertise in all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders, with special interest in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Colon Cancer Screening, he has performed tens of thousands of endoscopic procedures skillfully and safely. Dr. Gupta was named “Super Doc” by The Washington Post and “Top Doctor” by Washingtonian, Washington Checkbook and Northern Virginia magazines. Dr. Gupta has also been named one of “America’s Top Gastroenterologists” by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
He is the father of three grown children. He resides in Northern Virginia with his wife. He enjoys food, travel, reading and exercise.
